Our Process

Our solution can contain up to three treatment processes, depending on our individual client’s needs.

Flow Diagram

Process 1 removes the free oil, suspended solids and the dissolved iron, creating a Clear Brine product and a Brown Solid waste.  The Clear Brine may be suitable for re-injection into hydraulically fractured wells while the solids are sent to a secure landfill.

Process 2 utilizes the Clean Brine from Process 1 and removes divalent ions (Ba, Ca, Sr) while simultaneously generating 1-2% HCl, creating a Clear Acidic Brine and a White solid waste.  This brine is suitable for reuse in hydraulically fractured wells, while the White solids are sent to a secure landfill.

Process 3 takes the Clean Acidic Brine from Process 2 and separates the water from salts using evaporation and crystallization.  It produces Distilled Water and Crystallized Salt.  Distilled Water is salt-free.  The Crystallized Salt is mostly Sodium and Calcium Chloride and is suitable for industrial use.
